The most common survey relating to the purchase and financing of properties of an Identification Survey (1 D Survey). This survey is to determine all the buildings or structures are in the land being purchased or financed. The survey shows the boundaries and a simple outline of the building and their relationship to the boundaries.

There are a number of different surveys.


CONTOUR SURVEY used to locate the elevations of a block of land and the improvements on, above or under the land.


IDENTIFICATION SURVEY shows if any of the bUildings on the subject land encroach upon any adjoining property


PEG - OUTS this survey pegs out the boundaries of the property


REDEFINITION SURVEY this survey will check the position of existing pegs and replace the missing ones. It also confirms the property dimensions. This survey also confirms the boundaries for the architect which may save a building redesign

 

SITE ANALYSIS this identifies the positive and negative characteristics of a site and how these constrain a new project
